Fallout 76’s Paying Subscribers Form Aristocracy That Hates The Poor

Fallout 76’s paid subscription service, Fallout First, isn’t the most popular thing to spend your money on right now. Announced just a few weeks ago by Bethesda, Fallout First charges a monthly (or annual) fee for features that make the game distinctly more Fallout-like.

Naturally, there have been people willing to pay for this and people unwilling to pay for this which has led to an all-out class warfare within the post-apocalyptic landscape.

A clan with more than 300 members has been formed, and it’s called the Apocalyptic Aristocracy. The clan members essentially just bob around the place wearing ridiculous clothes and judging “peasants,” i.e. those who are playing Fallout 76 without having paid for the Fallout First subscription.

In an interview with Polygon, one of the founders of the group named “VectorZarak” explained more about Apocalyptic Aristocracy and its role in the realm of the game:

“The anti-subscription players had become very toxic, so much so that players could not even discuss the private servers or the bonuses that came with them without being insulted or yelled at,” they said.

“What started as a joke quickly turned into a safe haven, where players who had subscribed could openly discuss Fallout 1st topics without being attacked.”

Of course, the very nature of the subscription service has promoted a lot of trolling, and not everyone is good-natured about their taunts. Bullying is slowly becoming a real problem within Fallout 76, and it’s an issue that Bethesda has yet to comment on.

If you’re playing Fallout 76 please remember that it’s nice to be nice!
