Fans are casting Alexander Skarsgard as The Green Arrow and he might just be the perfect choice to play Oliver Queen.
Swedish-born Skarsgard is perhaps better known for his role as Eric Northman in the hit TV series True Blood which ran from 2008 to 2014. Since that series has ended, Skarsgard has gone on to star in many TV series and Hollywood movies. From Stephen King’s The Stand, and Godzilla vs. Kong, Skarsgard has enjoyed a varied acting career.
While there has been no official announcement from DC Comics that a Green Arrow movie is on the way, fans are so excited at the prospect of the movie, they have already started the casting process.
On Reddit, a fan has proposed the casting choice of Alexander Skarsgard, and they have also listed the reasons why he’d be a great choice:
- Has the right looks and height to play Green Arrow.
- A strong action star who’s played the male lead in a number of successful Warner Bros. movies, most recently The Legend of Tarzan and Godzilla vs Kong.
- Has great range and is a very versatile actor who can build strong chemistry with his co-stars.
- Already has the right build for a superhero and is very tall too.
- Alexander Skarsgard is a perfect fit to play Green Arrow; he has the right looks, the acting experience, the strong track record of playing the male lead in successful movies and the talent to play the character authentically, Alexander Skarsgard would make a great Green Arrow.
It seems that much of the thread agrees, with comments such as: “Damn he really looks the part.” However, not everyone agrees. Though to be fair, the thread is full of other great casting choices. My personal favorite is Charlie Hunnam.
So many great choices!
“Sorry but the role is already reserved for Charlie Hunnam,” said Aquarriman.
“My personal cast for green arrow is Alexander Ludwig,” replied LatterTarget7.
“No, Travis Fimmel should be Oliver Queen,” argued LordThunderbolt.
Who would you choose?
Personally, I believe that all casting suggestions would make for an excellent Green Arrow/Oliver Queen.
