Far Cry 3 is one of the best games in the franchise and the game’s iconic villain, Vaas, is one of the greatest characters in gaming, period. Could he be returning to the series?
Vaas was portrayed in the game by actor Michael Mando, who recently spoke about his role in Far Cry 3 during a Reddit AMA. Mando, who is best known for his role in Netflix’s Better Call Saul, the spin-off series of Breaking Bad, took the platform to talk about his career – and apparently, tease what’s to come.
One gamer asked Mando if he still gets recognised as Vaas, to which Mando replied: “Thank you so much! Vaas is my spirit animal – having co-created that character is something that will always be dear to me.
“I still get recognized as Vaas, and I still feel the outpouring of love for that character – makes me very happy. “
He then teased Far Cry fans by adding: “Who knows… maybe I will reprise the role very soon? :p Thank you for watching xo.”
Whether or not we’ll get to see Vaas again remains to be seen, but that tongue-out non-emoji there has me crossing my fingers!
Whether we see Vaas again or not, we can probably expect to hear more on a new Far Cry game sooner rather than later.
Known industry insider and reliable source of leaks, Jason Schreier, has claimed that the next addition to the Far Cry franchise is already in the works.
The (ex) Kotaku top dog and known leaker took to Twitter to comment on Ubisoft’s recent earnings call, in which the company explained it would be launching five AAA games between April 2020 and March 2021.
We already know that three of these titles include Rainbow 6 Quarantine, Watch Dogs Legion and Gods & Monsters. The other two are yet to be revealed.
However, Schreier has now claimed that these two mystery projects are none other than a new Assassin’s Creed and a new Far Cry.
This makes sense considering how fast the Far Cry franchise has been growing over the past couple of years. Could we be seeing Vaas?!
