Hundreds of players have formed a line within FF XIV, all of them there to pay their respects to the beloved manga artist and creator. Miura, best known as the creator of the bestselling manga Beserk, sadly recently passed away aged just 54.

Berserk is one of the most popular manga series on the planet, and has been one of the biggest sellers in the dark fantasy genre. If you’re not familiar with his name, you might recognise his artwork, some of which can be seen in the tweet below.

The online tribute to the incredible talent has reached shocking heights, with a huge number of Final Fantasy players taking their place in the virtual line as a mark of respect for Miura.

As well as forming the line, many players have also switched their characters to the Dark Knight class, which is said to be heavily influenced by Beserk. Others are also dropping their swords to the ground as a mark of respect.

The line seems only to be growing, as the movement across social media has inspired Final Fantasy players to log in and play their part in the memorial.

The long line of players paying their respects can, at the time of writing, be found in Ul’dah as well as in Limsa Lominsa, if you’re looking to join in. Across social media, the memorial has inspired and wowed both gamers and non-gamers alike.

While the news of Miura’s passing is a huge blow to the community, it’s definitely heartwarming to see Final Fantasy players take to the virtual streets to pay their respects to the esteemed creator.

Our thoughts go out to Miura’s family at this time.
