A number of titles were revealed during the event, but arguably none as exciting as the new Assassin’s Creed.

One of the games showcased during the live event was none other than the recently-announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and we got to see the gameplay for the very first time…or so we’ve been told.

However, the video, which you can watch below, seemingly doesn’t show any gameplay, but is in fact another cinematic trailer.

At the time of writing, Xbox still has the video titled as “gameplay,” leading to much confusion among gamers.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is due to drop later this year, but surprisingly, it’s not going to be the biggest game in the franchise.

The news come from Ubisoft’s head of communications for the Middle East, Malek Teffaha [via VG247]. Teffaha recently tweeted to say the game isn’t aiming to be the same size as Odyssey, due to criticism over just how big that game was.

“FYI, it won’t be the longest or biggest game in the series. They addressed criticism on this one,” he said.

Personally, I’m pretty glad. Odyssey is a fantastic game, but you can rack up 300 hours of playtime and still have stuff to do. For a lot of people (myself included), there really is too much of a good thing.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X sometime during “Holiday 2020.”
