The patch notes for Epic Games’ epic game Fortnite have just been released, and the internet is officially losing its mind now that season six has arrived.
Of course, there’s a lot to go through with the start of a new season, but here’s the need-to-know highlights:
The most interesting thing the patch notes reveal is the announcement of pets coming to battle royale mode. Rumours had been circulating about such a thing for a while now, after data miners uncovered the term ‘Pets’ in previous patch notes.
Now it’s been officially confirmed by Epic that yes, you will be able to have four-legged buddies helping you on your journey to that oh-so-sweet Victory Royale.
Season 6 isn’t just adding pets – Epic unveiled a new trailer for the season, which we now know is officially called Darkness Rises.
Firstly, the new Battle Pass. It’s 100 levels and 100 new rewards, and will set you back a mere 950 V-Bucks. More details incoming on that one as the season gets underway.
As for Battle Royale, there’s an update to the map, a new (and heavily armoured) enemy known as the Riot Husky and Shadow Stones have been added.
On Shadow Stones, Epic gives the following information: “Shadow Stones: Consumable typically found around corrupted areas of the map. Using a Shadow Stone will apply ‘Shadow Form’ for a brief period.
“While in Shadow Form: Unable to use weapons. Become invisible to enemies when stationary. You become more visible and leave behind a Shadow Trail when moving.
