I see that "bad apple" guy there.

FreeFortnite Cup Announced By Epic Games Following Legal Drama

Epic Games has announced a new in-game event, the FreeFortnite Cup, which will mark the final time in which players across all platforms will be able to play Fortnite together.

The FreeFortniteCup will be jam-packed with a bunch of goodies which you’ll be able to score, including real-life merch instead of just the usual cosmetics and in-game bonuses.

In case you missed it, Epic Games is taking legal action against both Google and Apple, with Apple now having removed Fortnite from its mobile app store.

This weekend marks the final few days in which players on mobile will be able to play together, as Fortnite’s next Season kicks off later this month and won’t be available to download for mobile players.

Over on the official website, Epic Games writes: “These are the final days of the entire Fortnite community’s ability to play together. Apple has blocked Fortnite from the App Store, preventing players from updating to new versions. Players on iOS devices will be left behind on Chapter 2 – Season 3 while everyone else jumps into the Chapter 2 – Season 4 launch on August 27.

“Celebrate the quest for one more Victory Royale with friends across all platforms in the #FreeFortnite Cup this Sunday, August 23. Drop in for an opportunity to win more prizes than ever before including the new Tart Tycoon Outfit, gaming hardware, and exclusive apparel.”

You could score yourself some gaming goodies including hardware, or even nab yourself one of these snazzy hats which definitely isn’t taking shots at Apple in the slightest.

Speaking of, this is the face of the event, a character who Epic describes as being “one bad apple.” Hmmm….

Although the plug has been pulled for iOS Fortnite players, Android users can still access Fortnite on mobile. Epic writes: “Android players, you can still play Fortnite on your device! Please visit this link on your Android phone to learn how. It’s easy and only takes a few minutes.”
