One of the most beloved game series of all time, Left 4 Dead, has been missing from the shelves for a while now and it seems gamers have had enough of Valve’s radio silence. A fan-created petition wants to change that with a remastered Left 4 Dead on the current-gen of consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Created by Joshua Davis on Change.org, the petition asks for “Left 4 Dead Remastered on PS4 & Xbox One (With Mod Support).”
The Valve fan writes: “Why not remaster both Left 4 Dead games and make an all-in-one experience for new gen consoles, plus add both mod & custom map support.
“It’s something that hardcore Left 4 Dead fans would love to see and play to have fun & relive fond memories in a new way. There’s no way that it wouldn’t sell well and if anything it might show Valve that there’s still a huge market for Left 4 Dead 3 if they were to make it.”
At the time of writing, the petition has reached nearly 2000 signatures, which might not be enough to sway Valve just yet. However, it can’t be denied that people would love to see a remaster – especially if it means the L4D franchise could come to PlayStation for the first time ever.
A rumour that Left 4 Dead 3 was back in development recently hit the headlines, only to be debunked by Valve just a matter of hours later. Still, the rumour gripped the internet like wildfire, and it’s only proven just how popular the series still is.
Of course, Change.org petitions don’t really have an excellent track record of success, especially when it comes to video games. Is it likely we’ll get the remaster we’re hoping for? No, probably not, but if it’s something you’d like to see happen you can sign the petition right here.
