Gaming Grandma Will Be A Character In The Next Elder Scrolls Thanks To Petition

Gaming Grandma is one of the best Elder Scrolls players out there, and her adoring fans have managed to do something extra-special for GG, who could very well be the most memorable Skyrim player on YouTube.

If you’re not familiar with 82-year-old Shirley Curry then I can’t blame you – she’s not a household name (yet), but she could well be one of the best Skyrim players of all time.

Curry is perhaps better known as “Gaming Grandma,” a moniker kindly given by her adoring fans. Her (amazing) YouTube channel description reads: “I am a 82 year old grandmother who loves to play, and now record, games! I live in Virginia USA I love playing Skyrim. I am a widow. I have 4 sons, 9 grandchildren. My birthday is April 2nd.”

Last year, Redditors phantom-scribbler and PlausibleLee drew attention to a petition, which originally started on Reddit, in the hopes of getting a Gaming Grandma-inspired NPC in the next Elder Scrolls game.

Gaming Grandma has previously expressed concerns that she wouldn’t get the play the next game as it’s still a few years from release.

As the petition grew in popularity, it seems Bethesda has taken note.

Not only will Curry be immortalised as a character in the next Elder Scrolls title, but she even got to visit Bethesda’s studio and meet up with the one and only Todd Howard, director of Bethesda games.
