The highly-anticipated new addition to the Gears of War franchise, Gears 5, has finally dropped, and it’s left lots of people very impressed.
The near-perfect game has been dubbed one of the best in the franchise, despite a couple of issues here and there.

However, a recently-discovered glitch has turned Gears 5 into something Xbox (probably) didn’t want us to see – the game as a first person shooter.
A Twitter user/Gears fan by the name of ArturiusTheMage captured a video of the odd occurrence, and everyone’s asking the same question: why isn’t this an official game mode?
“Imagine how many more people would actually give this game a try if they added this option?” tweeted one user in response.
Another added: “They need to go ahead and add this to the game. It would be as simple as camera tweaking. (Not really but You know…)”

It’s not entirely clear how the glitch came to happen. In the clip, which you can check out in the tweet above, ArturiusTheMage looks down the Longshot scope which seems to cause the gun model to clip and glitch.
The sleuths over on Reddit believe that the strange bug might be down to a scrapped feature, with one Redditor writing: “Honestly, looks like something that was built into the game for the developers to play around with. The option to access it was removed, but the framework was still there. Someone managed to trigger the FPS flag to on by accident.”
We’re still waiting for solid proof of how to emulate the glitch, but maybe we’ll get word from the devs about whether or not first person mode was ever considered for Gears 5. If so, maybe it’ll be considered again in the future?
