‘Ghosts’ Is An Upcoming Horror Game You Should Only Play At 10pm

Ghosts is a new FMV live-action horror video game that only works at 10pm, in your local time.

FMV (Full Motion Video) and live-action films are nothing new, as they’ve been around since the 80s and 90s in one form or another. However, they’re still a fairly niche genre in video games.

Ghosts puts a new spin on the formula – by only letting you play the game at 10pm in your local time.

This means that you’ll be playing this live-action horror game at around the same time as everyone else in your time zone.

Apparently, if you try to play Ghosts before 10pm (unless you change your system settings), you will be treated to a blank screen.

In theory, only being able to play this live-action horror game at 10pm sounds like a fun idea on paper. However, I can see it causing some issues for gamers as not everyone can commit to only playing a game at a set specific time.

A press release for the game does confirm you can play the game in some form when it’s not 10pm, but that it won’t be the same experience.

If you can crack the ‘test’ you will have access to an unlockable pre-watershed version where you can breathe and save your progress, but once you hit 10 pm all bets are off”, it reads.

This sounds very much to me that once you complete the game from the 10pm start time, you’ll unlock a mode to play as and when you please.

Jed Shepherd, a writer/producer on Host at Shudder will be developing the FMV live-action horror game.

Excited to announce that I’m making a REAL-TIME, live-action HORROR video game w/creature design by @slimyswampghost & made by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop!” said Shepherd in the tweet.

Released by @LimitedRunGames and starring Haley, Jemma, Radina, and Caroline. They can tell you all about it”, which was followed by a video introducing the concept of Ghosts.

In Ghosts, players will be tasked with keeping all the characters alive and must avoid them being killed in “really horrible ways” as you try to survive the entity known as The Long Lady.

From what I can tell, as there’ll be no “floating words or glowing doors”, it seems that you’ll essentially be playing a role as a director through the camera lens.

I’m not sure how good this game will be, but I like its concept and the fact that the creatures will be created by a Jim Henson Creature Shop, should add a level of quality to the production.

Ghosts currently has a Kickstarter campaign, so if you want to support this game, you can check out the details here.

If all goes well, Ghosts should release for PC, Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on February 22nd 2022. Are you excited for this 10pm-only horror game?
