Ghostwire Tokyo Delayed! Could Spell Bad News For Xbox Players

Ghostwire: Tokyo has been delayed until “early 2022” for PC and PS5, which could spell further bad news for Xbox players.

Tango Gameworks, the Bethesda studio that brought us The Evil Within and its sequel, announced the unfortunate news on Twitter.

We’ve made the decision to delay the launch of Ghostwire: Tokyo to early 2022,” said the developers.

We want to get the game in your hands as soon as possible so you can experience the unforgettable version of a haunted Tokyo that we’ve been hard at work building.

At the same time, we’re also focused on protecting the health of everyone at Tango. Our new release window will give us time to bring the world of Ghostwire to life as we’ve always envisioned it.

Thank you for being patient as we work to bring you an experience unlike anything else we’ve ever made. We can’t wait to show you more in the coming months.

It’s extra bad news for Xbox players

Ghostwire: Tokyo was to release this year for PC and PlayStation 5. However, much like Deathloop, despite Microsoft owning Bethesda, Ghostwire: Tokyo is expected to be a console exclusive for at least a year before coming to Xbox Series X|S.

Therefore, not only do PC and PS5 players have to wait longer now that the date has been pushed back to “early 2022”, but it now means that Xbox players may have to wait until early 2023 to play Ghostwire: Tokyo.
