Deathloop Will Be A PlayStation 5 Exclusive Until At Least September 2022

Bethesda’s Deathloop will be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive until at least September 2022, as confirmed in the latest trailer.

Ever since Microsoft purchased Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media, questions have been asked regarding timed console exclusives for the PlayStation 5. Take for example Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop.

Before Microsoft’s acquisition, exclusive deals were already put in place between Sony and Bethesda, to make both Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop timed console exclusives.

Deals will not be dishonored

Back in September 2020, Xbox chief Phil Spencer confirmed that the deals for Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop were already put into place and will be honoured by Microsoft. However, once the timed exclusivity deals have expired, it is expected that both games will arrive to Xbox Series X|S.

While we don’t know when both deals will expire for the two games in question, we do at least know how long Deathloop will remain a console exclusive.

As reported by Push Square, at the very end of the 10-minute gameplay walkthrough which aired at a recent State of Play, the date of “at least” September 14th, 2022, was revealed in the small print.

So, there you have it. Don’t expect Deathloop to arrive on Xbox Series X|S until September 14th, 2022. However, seeing as it is a Bethesda-owned title, it will at least come to Xbox Game Pass when it launches on Microsoft’s console.
