Gizmo from Gremlins is officially coming to MultiVersus in a new update next week.
MultiVersus’s roster is continuing to grow, with more confirmed characters coming out of the woodwork. Recently we got Morty from Rick and Morty as part of Season 1 of the game, and now Gizmo has been confirmed to be coming to the game this Tuesday.
The MultiVersus twitter posted a new tweet with a teaser video for Gizmo. It said “We’ve got a little, fluffy surprise headed your way on Tuesday!”. The video features the box from Gremlins which contained the gremlin Gizmo.
Afterwards, game director Tony Huynh confirmed that Gizmo and Stripe would be two separate characters in the game. We already knew that Stripe was coming to the game, but this confirms that they won’t be clones of each other.
Later, Player 1st Games tweeted “Gizmo & Stripe will be separate iconic fighters joining the roster. Gizmo’s up first! Feel free to choose between cute & cuddly or scaly & chaotic. Decisions, decisions…what’s your choice?”
Character Leaks
Gizmo and Stripe were both listed in a leak from a few months ago, which lends more weight to the leak as a whole. The leak also mentioned characters from other franchises. Such characters include Daenerys Targaryen, The Hound, Poison Ivy, Raven, Black Adam, Marvin the Martian, Legolas, The Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz, Beetlejuice, Godzilla, Joker, Gandalf and Scooby-Doo, among others.
It certainly seems like this leak is accurate, though whether all of these characters will see the light of day is unknown. It’s possible some of them could just be in early development and may not end up being finished. Others could be near completion and planned for a release in an upcoming season.
We’ll just have to wait for more announcements from the team to see who’s up next. For now, we’ve got some Gremlins to look forward to.
