Goat Simulator 3 was announced at the Summer Games Fest, and no, there wasn’t a Goat Simulator 2.
The announcement for Goat Simulator 3 started out slightly suspiciously. Host of the showcase Geoff Keighley billed it as a “sequel we’ve all been anticipating for a long time.” Specifying that “you don’t want to get bitten,” and “after many years of rumours, we finally get an update on this much anticipated sequel.”
What followed was a trailer for… Dead Island 2? You might remember the reveal trailer back in 2014. Which showed a guy with slick blonde hair who’s maybe a bit too full of himself running along Venice Beach without noticing any of the ensuing zombie chaos.
Well, this new trailer for Goat Simulator 3 is essentially a remake of that classic Dead Island 2 trailer. Just with a few more goats than zombies. And it’s set to come out this Autumn on the Epic Games store.

The game stars Pilgor the goat once again, now in San Angora, which developer Coffee Stain has said there are “hidden secrets, quests, collectables,” and an ending. There’s multiplayer now too, where up to four players can cause mischief as goats together. And to set each goat apart, there’s customisation options.
“Since the release of the first Goat Simulator, it’s come to our attention that it did not really represent reality and how it actually feels to be a goat,” said creative director Santiago Ferrero.
“So for the past couple of years, we’ve been doing some googling, and I am pleased to say — we’ve made it. Goat Simulator 3 is by far the greatest goat experience out there. Is it worth the money? Who knows. But will you regret it? Probably.”
What happened to Goat Simulator 2? We’ll perhaps never know, but at least this sequel looks like it packs the promise of two in one. In the meantime, you can check out the first game on Game Pass.
