God of War Director Wants Crossover With Viking Assassin’s Creed Game

Cory Barlog, director of the multi-award winning and absolutely show-stopping PlayStation exclusive, God of War, has tweeted his appreciation over rumours about the next Assassin’s Creed game.

Retweeting the rumour, which suggests that the next addition to the AC franchise might be set in the Viking era, Barlog added: “…I smell crossover???”

Of course, Barlog is almost definitely joking here, but let’s face it – an AC and GoW crossover is all we’ve ever needed in our lives.

Responding to Barlog’s tweet, one GoW fan pointed out that there already has been a crossover between the two games. Ish.

“Cory there was Already crossover between @assassinscreed and @SonySantaMonica how many Kratos quests we had in it’s ancient Greece , there’s a mountain named Kratos..just not officially announced by both..Teasing.. who Knows..

Right now, the gaming community is very hyped about the potential for a Viking-focused Assassin’s Creed game, and for good reason.

A player of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 seems to have spied what could be a very interesting Easter egg in the game, as it seems to suggest that the next Assassin’s Creed is taking place in the era of Vikings, which would definitely be up a lot of people’s alleys.

PCGamesN reports that an AC forum post seemingly shows a character from The Division 2 looking at a poster of a man dressed in a red and white cloak, with a helmet, tunic, spear and a mysterious orb-like thing. The text on the poster says ‘Valhalla,’ meaning the Viking afterlife.

The AC fan who created the post, AlifMorrisonudin, writes: “There’s a poster of Norse god which is holding some kind of Ball object which is similar with Apple of Eden.”
