God Of War Prequel Will Reveal What Happened To Kratos Before Reboot

Thanks to a new prequel series we will finally learn what happened to Kratos between the original God of War trilogy and the 2018 reboot.

God of War (2018) is one of the finest games of the last generation. By the time the reboot came about Kratos had pretty much killed everyone in Olympus and fled to Scandinavia in the hopes of a quiet life.

To be fair to Kratos, he did have a quiet life for a while. He found the love of his life, had a son, built a cosy cabin and grew an awesome beard.

However it wasn’t long until the Norse Gods quite literally came knocking on Kratos’ door. Before we knew it, Kratos was running through the Scandinavian Gods like a game of Supermarket Sweep.

Despite some subtle hints during the campaign of God of War (2018), we definitely have some knowledge gaps about Kratos’ timeline. Many of us were left wondering what was Kratos up to in-between the original trilogy and the reboot.

Thankfully those questions will finally be answered thanks to a forthcoming new limited comic book series from Dark Horse.

The first issue of God of War: Fallen God will be released on March 10th. It will be written by Chris Roberson, featuring artwork from Tony Parker, colourist Dan Jackson and letterer John Roshell.

Can the tides of time ever wash away the blood sands of sin,” God of War: Fallen God’s description reads.Or do transpired trespasses permanently and inescapably stain one’s soul?

The synopsis adds further details on the story:

After conquering Zeus and thwarting Athena, Kratos believes himself to be finally free from his bondage. He sets sail for the desert in an attempt to distance himself from his home and his shame only to find his rage and guilt follow close behind. Kratos rages against the one foe that has proven to be unconquerable–himself. But a war against oneself is unwinnable, and only invites madness.
