God of War Ragnarok release announcement reportedly delayed

The God of War Ragnarok release date announcement has reportedly been delayed, claims two industry insiders.

Rumours of a release date announcement have been around for weeks. Last month, a leaker known on Twitter as “TheSnitch” teased that Ragnarok’s release date was to be announced on June 30th.

However, that announcement never came to be. Instead, Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog pleaded with fans to be patient until an update arrives. Now that plea makes even more sense, if recent reports are true.

Both Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, as well as Tom Henderson reporting for Exputer, not only confirmed the tease by TheSnitch, but they also report that the expected release date announcement has been delayed.

Two Collector Editions were to be revealed

Furthermore, according to Henderson, two collector editions were to be revealed alongside the release date. It’s claimed a premium Collector’s Edition would include a 1:1 replica of Mjolnir’s Hammer, as well as containing other collectable items. Whereas the “Jotnar Edition” would include the hammer, but with fewer extras.

It’s also been stated that there was going to be no new gameplay revealed during the postponed event. However, Henderson believes that the God of War Ragnarok release date might land on November 11th.
