Godfall arrives next week on PlayStation Plus. You might assume it would be the full game. However, that is not the case.
Announced this week, Godfall joins the likes of LEGO DC Super-Villains and Mortal Shell as the PlayStation Plus games for December 2021. All in all, it’s not a bad lineup to close out the year in my opinion.
Launching as a PlayStation 5 timed-exclusive in 2020, before arriving to PS4 this year, despite not receiving great reviews, Godfall is a game I’ve been curious to try out. As it stands on Metacritic, Godfall has a critic score of 61 and a user score of 4.7.
Unfortunately, when Godfall arrives on PS+ next week, we will not be able to try out the full game. This version of Godfall on PS+ is called the “Challenger Edition”. In a nutshell, this version of the game features none of the main story content and instead throws the player straight into the endgame content.

“Godfall: Challenger Edition allows new players to experience the game’s trio of endgame modes, minus the story content of the base game and Fire & Darkness expansions, and grants existing players new exciting features and rewards to enjoy,” reads a post on the PlayStation Blog.
If you ended up enjoying Godfall, there will be an option to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition. This includes the base game as well as the Fire & Darkness expansion. However, pricing for the upgrade has not been detailed at this time.
