Gran Turismo 7 Will Require Two Discs On PlayStation 4

It has been revealed that Gran Turismo 7 will require two Blu-ray discs on PlayStation 4 but only one disc for PlayStation 5.

The details were spotted on Sony’s digital storefront PlayStation Direct by Gran Turismo fan website, GT Planet. Here it was revealed that Gran Turismo 7 will require double the amount of Blu-ray discs on the last-gen consoles.

Why does PS4 have Two Discs And PS5 just one?

This simply comes down to the disc drives of both the PS4 and PS5. PlayStation 4 features a standard dual-layer disc drive that can manage around 50GB of data. Whereas the PlayStation 5s UHD Blu-ray disc drive can manage double the data at around 100GB.

Furthermore, Gran Turismo 7 will also require at least 100GB to download and store on your console. So, I guess this is also one of the reasons the PS4 version needs two Blu-ray discs.

Gran Turismo 7 will be one of the PlayStations most anticipated games this year, especially when considering this series is considered to be one of the racing genre’s finest.

Earlier this month, Sony dedicated an entire State of Play to GT7. During the 30-minute presentation, we not only learned more of the technical aspects of GT7 but also the modes we can expect to see in the upcoming racer.
