GTA 6 leaks are a massive blow to Rockstar

Now, considering that Rockstar Games hasn’t unveiled anything related to GTA 6, other than acknowledging that it’s in development, it’s been a massive blow for the company. Any AAA studio works tirelessly to keep unrevealed games under wraps.

This massive GTA 6 leak has been one of the biggest in video game history and despite clearly being very early footage, it hasn’t stopped corners of the internet criticising its apparent quality.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the footage is leaked and GTA 6 is years away from its release, hence why it all looks unfinished.

However, Rockstar Games has now addressed the leaks and confirmed that it has been infiltrated by a hacker.

We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorised third-party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto,” said Rockstar Games in a statement posted via Twitter.

At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects.

Furthermore, in response to fans criticising the early quality of Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, popular developers around the world have leapt to the defence of Rockstar Games.

Some of the developers defending Rockstar Games include the likes of Naughty Dog chief Neil Druckmann as well as writer at Santa Monica Studio, Alanah Pearce.

Devs offer support to Rockstar Games

You can still find the GTA 6 leaks on the internet. However, Rockstar Games are understandably working to remove them as soon as possible.

So, if you really want to check out the early developmental footage, they shouldn’t be hard to find. In related news, the alleged GTA 6 hacker apparently wants to make a deal with Rockstar Games.

When is the GTA 6 release date?

At the time of writing, Rockstar Games hasn’t announced a release date for GTA 6. After all, official gameplay hasn’t even been revealed yet.

However, suggestions from Rockstar Games publisher Take-Two have hinted that GTA 6 might arrive in 2024.
