GTA Remastered Trilogy has received its second major update. However, the physical version has been delayed at retail.
Earlier in November, after a troubled launch, Rockstar Games made the first step in improving the remasters with its first update. The first update was more about improving stability in preparation for future updates. However, update 1.03 has arrived and made over 100 fixes and improvements.
While this week’s update makes fixes across all three games in the collection, GTA San Andreas has benefited the most. Firstly, a cloud cover has been added to the landscape when at a high altitude. This was something that was present in the original San Andreas but omitted from the remaster. Secondly, CJs animations have also been improved when he is Max Fat or Max Muscle.
All three games have benefited
GTA 3 has also had its rain effects improved during cut-scenes, and the cinematic camera can now be toggled across all three games. You can read the full update 1.03 patch notes here.
Unfortunately, there is some bad news. The physical version of the GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition was supposed to release this month at retail but has now been delayed. For PlayStation and Xbox, the delay isn’t bad, as it’s still releasing this month. The new date for the remastered collection on PlayStation and Xbox is now December 17th.
Nintendo Switch version delayed into 2022
Sadly, the Nintendo Switch physical release has been delayed into next year with no solid launch date. At this time, Rockstar Games has slated its new release for “early 2022”.
