A God of War superfan has been awarded a Guinness World Record award thanks to his incredibly impressive collection of memorabilia.
Emanuel Mojica Rosas, from Jalisco, Nayarit in Mexico, has a grand total of 583 God of War items, which he’s accumulated over the last eight years.

He explained [via TheGamer] that his collection stemmed from the passing of his grandmother back in 2011, spurring him into a life-long love of the game series.
“My only escape was to pick up my PlayStation 2 and start to play God of War,” he said. “If Kratos can change his own destiny, I can do it.”
God of War studio Santa Monica Studio took note of the collection, and invited Mojica Rosas to what he thought was a tour – it turned out to be something a lot more special.

Mojica Rosas crowned a Guinness World Record holder, but what’s even more impressive is the gift he was given from GoW director, Cory Barlog.
Barlog presented Mojica Rosas with the original burned disc for the very first God of War game, which released on the PlayStation 2.
The wonderful occasion was all captured on video, which you can see below from the official PlayStation YouTube channel.
PlayStation said: “To celebrate the anniversary of God of War, Santa Monica Studio partnered with Guinness World Records to surprise one of their greatest fans. This is a fan for the ages.”

Celebrating his win on Twitter, Mojica Rosas said: “Happy first anniversary #GodofWar 2018 and if you were wondering how look like the largest god of war collection in the world well here is @corybarlog @SonySantaMonica you so MUCH for this Magical year and let me be part of this incredible celebration.”
It’s well-deserved victory for the GoW fan, and further proof that Santa Monica Studio is 100% for the players.
