It’s been confirmed that Halo Infinite still doesn’t have a release date, despite new rumours to the contrary.

A number of online sources have been reporting that the recently-delayed Halo Infinite has a new release date after retail listings began popping up, but it seems that’s not the case.

Halo Community Director Brian Jarrard recently took to Twitter to put the release date rumours to bed, assuring fans that even 343 Industries themselves haven’t yet decided on a launch date.

“PSA: We haven’t locked on release date for Halo Infinite yet,” Jarrard tweeted, “Anything you see on a retail site is just placeholder / speculation.”

Originally planned to release alongside Xbox’s next-gen consoles later this year, Halo Infinite was delayed following fan feedback after its gameplay reveal.

In a statement shared across social media earlier this year, the development team said the following: “We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision.”

Though we don’t have any official word on how production is going, one Twitter leaker recently claimed that Halo Infinite is looking better than ever, and will “change everything” when it does release.

Twitter leaker and anonymous user Qilin has been right about similar leaks in the past, but with a disclaimed on their Twitter profile, best take this one with a pinch of salt until confirmed.

Qilin recently took to their platform to talk about Halo Infinite’s changes since its gameplay reveal.

“New Halo Infinite build is up. Looking amazing, new features added in early stages. This game is going to change everything when it’s out,” they said in a now-deleted tweet.

When pressed for more info, Qilin went on to say they don’t know whether the game will be coming out in early 2021, but that it would be worth the wait.

“It won’t be too long though just hang in there,” they said. “We’re definitely taking our time to perfect this now that we got a delay. It’s all worth it trust me. I wanted the delay to happen.”

Let’s hope this is true!
