It has been revealed via the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been optimised for Xbox Series X and S.
“The entire Master Chief Collection? Optimized,” tweeted Xbox Game Pass, confirming the news.
What this means is that the entire Master Chief Collection has been optimised for next-gen; including Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4 and Halo: Reach.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be at a 4K resolution on Xbox Series X, 1080p on Xbox Series S, while both consoles are able to perform at 120 frames-per-second.
Of course you’ll need a compatible TV to take full advantage of the next-gen features but even a standard 4K TV should have noticeable improvements.
In related news, the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection now includes Halo 4 in its library which features the full campaign and its 25 multiplayer maps.
This means that both the PC and Xbox versions of Halo: The Master Chief Collections are complete as there are no plans to include Halo 5: Guardians in either collection.

Recently Halo: Infinite, which is considered to be a soft reboot for the series, was delayed until 2021, meaning that it would no longer be an Xbox Series X|S launch title.
In a statement released by 343 Industries back in August the development team said: “We have made the difficult decision to shift our release to 2021 to ensure the team has adequate time to deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision.”

Hopefully with Halo: The Master Chief Collection now being optimised on next-gen consoles it should help keep fans occupied until Halo: Infinite finally releases.
