New-gen magical RPG Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed until 2022, skipping the year completely.
Announcing the news on Twitter, the official account for Hogwarts Legacy issued the following statement:

“We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label.
“Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs.
“Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022.”
Despite controversies over Harry Potter author J.K Rowling, there were a lot of people looking forward to playing Hogwarts Legacy this year. Announced with a 2021 release window, the game must need some serious work to delay it by such a period!

Still, if it means both the game and the developers can get the job done without crunch and without sacrificing the quality of the finished product, I’m happy to wait!
The game will be set during the late 1800s, which predates the Fantastic Beasts movies. You’ll play as a Hogwarts student, allowing you to choose your very own Hogwarts House. Unless, of course, the Sorting Hat takes that decision out of your hands.
Hogwarts Legacy will now release sometime in 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
