The upcoming Harry Potter RPG will feature its own morality system it has been revealed. The game, Hogwarts Legacy, will be set during the late 1800s which predates the Fantastic Beasts movies, and is set to release next year.
You will play as a Hogwarts student which will see you choose your very own Hogwarts House. Unless, of course, the Sorting Hat takes that decision out of your hands.
You’ll be able to explore the many mysterious and magical corridors of Hogwarts, as well as other fan-favourite locations such as the Hogsmeade Village and the Forbidden Forest.
Hogwarts Legacy lets you learn and upgrade various skills, abilities and magical spells. As you progress in the story you will become a more powerful wizard or witch.
The Morality System
Naturally, as with most RPG titles, the decisions that you make will shape your story and Hogwarts Legacy seems to be no exception to that rule. Thanks to a recent Q&A on the Warner Bros website we have learned more about how the game is shaped by your choices.
Among the answer to the question “How do you play Hogwarts Legacy?” it was revealed that the game will feature a morality system.
“Players will also encounter missions and scenarios that will challenge their morality and determine what they stand for.“
Having a morality feature is no surprise, especially with a game like this. It is not a given that modern RPG games are shaped by your choices.
With that said it’s still nice to get official confirmation that Hogwarts Legacy will feature a morality system to coincide with other factors that will shape your story. It will be interesting to see if it links into the four Hogwarts houses of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.
Hogwarts Legacy is being developed by Avalanche Software and published by Portkey Games.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to release in 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
