PlayStation Plus has offered up an interesting mixture of games in recent months. Uncharted 4, Dirt Rally 2.0 and Shadow of the Colossus have all had their chance to shine thanks to the service. Last month saw people annoyed though, so much so that some even tried to petition against the games.
Something that seems a bit silly because Cities Skylines is one of the best city building games in years and Farming Simulator 19 is a fun enough experience. People seemed fairly vocal for AAA titles though and it seems PlayStation are keen to placate them early on with the announcement of the first game for June.
Call of Duty: WWII is the first game of next months PS+ games. Good news though if you’re the impatient type. You’ll be able to download it from May 26th… which I guess means it isn’t really the PlayStation Plus game for June?
The other PlayStation Plus game will be announced later this week although we don’t know yet when it will release, although it will likely go live next Tuesday, which is normally the case for the PS+ games.
Call of Duty: WWII received a mixed response from critics and fans when it released back in 2017. It sits at 79 on Metacritic from critics and has a user score of only 4.4. Over on OpenCritic it scored a 78. It has a fairly decent single player campaign and the multiplayer is fun if you prefer old school weaponry in your FPS games.
It will be interesting to see how fans find the game in 2020. The game has had numerous patches since release and the existing fanbase will no doubt enjoy having some new fans to play with (and no doubt completely destroy). The games World War 2 setting is also very different to the rumoured Cold War setting of the new game.
