Legendary manga icon Junji Ito has teased the possibility of a video game collaboration with the one and only Hideo Kojima. The news comes via Viz’s Comic-Con at Home panel, where Ito confirmed that talks had begun with Kojima, though it’s not clear what the future holds.
When asked whether he’s currently working on a video game, he said [via ComicBook]: “The simple answer is no. However, I do know Director Kojima, and we have been in conversation that he might have a horror-based game that he might be doing. So he has invited me to work on that, but there’s no details on it yet.”
Although Kojima has yet to get a proper horror game on shelves, his playable teaser for what would have been Silent Hills remains the pinnacle for gaming horror even to this day. P.T has inspired hundreds of other horror games now, and even being just a demo, it’s still one of the best and most terrifying experiences of the PlayStation 4.

Putting the mastermind of Kojima with the terrifying work of Junji Ito has the potential to be one of the most exciting collaborations of all time (at least for horror fans). Hopefully something will come of this, because honestly, I’m excited.
Speaking of Silent Hill, we’re still expecting a new PS5 exclusive reboot of the game to be announced in the coming months. Though vehemently denied by Konami, we’ve now heard a number of leaks surrounding the game’s existence.
Known Resident Evil leaker, AestheticGamer on Twitter, has been a fairly reliable source of horror game leaks in the past, and is pretty sure the game reveal is due next month.
They tweeted: “he two most likely times will be in August/September. August there is planned a State of Play in response to Microsoft’s July event with new announcements.
“September there’s a thing planned around [Tokyo Game Show]. I don’t know specifically, I’ll tweet when I do.”
“I’ll lay this out again bluntly,” they tweeted. “Silent Hill if [sic] the Japan Studios, Toyama directing, etc, stuff is all true will either be revealed on the 4th or in August. It SHOULD be the 4th as the team is excited to reveal it, the game is PS5 exclusive and it’s in a playable state.”
Only time will tell!
