Hitman 3 will soon include all the modern games in the series under the new name “Hitman: World of Assassination.”
If you own Hitman 3, on January 26th you will be gifted with Hitman and Hitman 2 via a free upgrade. Furthermore, Hitman, Hitman 2 and Hitman 3 won’t exist. Hitman 3 will consolidate into Hitman: World of Assassination and all three games will become one.
Hitman games will become a hub
“In 2015, we shared our vision for the World of Assassination; an ever-expanding game that would evolve over time and be the foundation for future HITMAN games,” said IO Interactive in a blog post.
“Those were the exact words we used and a central promise to how we’ve released the three games in the 7 years that followed.”
Obviously, you will still be able to buy Hitman, Hitman 2 as well as Hitman 3 in physical form at retail. However, things will change in digital form. Both the first two Hitman games will be delisted from digital stores as they evolve into World of Assassination.
Two versions of Hitman will be available
What’s more, as of January 26th, you will be able to pick up Hitman: World of Assassination which includes all three games and bonus content.
This version has an RRP of $69.99 (or region equivalent). It includes Hitman 3, Hitman GOTY Access Pass as well as Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass.

You can buy the added premium Hitman DLC too
The Hitman: World of Assassination Deluxe Pack will include all the premium digital content if you want an added upgrade.
This version has an RRP of $29.99 (or region equivalent). It includes Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection as well as Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass.

Purchasing Hitman games will be much simpler
I was only looking at the Hitman purchase options on the PS Store this week, and I can see why IO Interactive are consolidating the series into what is essentially a hub.
Not only are there three games, but each version has a season pass, DLC packs and various upgrade options. So knowing what you’re purchasing will be a lot easier later this month.
An update will also be made to Hitman Freelancer as players will be able to: “easily access all locations from across the World of Assassination”.
