The Guerrilla Games’ RPG is joining nine other titles that will be completely free to download – and keep! – next month.

While Sony’s PlayStation Plus Collection already has many games included from the PS4’s library, Horizon Zero Dawn isn’t currently on the list. Including the game in next month’s Play at Home package means that players can grab the game completely free, with no subscription strings attached. What’s more, once you’ve downloaded it, it’s yours to keep forever.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an expansive open-world RPG by Guerrilla Games, the team behind the likes of Killzone. The series features the tale of Aloy, a young Hunter trying to survive a post-apocalyptic world of machines. The game’s also getting a sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, set to come to PS5 this year.

If you’re a fan of games like Breath of the Wild, then you’ll want to check out this unique take on the open-world genre.

If modern RPGs aren’t your bag, then fear not. Also included in Sony’s Stay at Home bundle is a selection of indie games.

Abzu, The Witness, Enter the Gunegon, and Subnautica are all joining Horizon as freebies, along with the classic PS2 remake, Rez Infinite. VR fans can also rejoice, as four of the nine free titles available this spring are playable on PlayStation VR. Moss, Astrobot Rescue Mission, Paper Beast and Thumper are all coming to the PS4 for free on 25th March 2021.

The Play at Home offer was first made available in 2020 and was intended to encourage players to stay at home during the pandemic. By providing players with some free content, Sony had hoped to give players are a reason to curl up on the couch away from the dangers of COVID-19. While there’s no solid data to suggest that the initiative contributed to social distancing efforts, it’s still a great gesture.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait slightly longer for the free version of Horizon Zero Dawn, which is set to be available from 19th April. Luckily, there’s plenty of great games to keep you busy until then.

Sony’s 2021 Play at Home Initiative has already begun, with Ratchet and Clank being available to download until 31st March 2021.
