The Chernobyl disaster of 1986 has been brought to life thanks to the HBO mini-series dedicated to the whole sad and terrifying saga. Chernobyl has become one of the highest-rated TV series of all time, and with such harrowing and important content, it’s easy to see why it’s affected so many viewers.
Where the show has prompted the adventurous among us to travel to the area of the nuclear disaster, there’s soon going to be a much safer way to experience the wasteland found near the city of Pripyat, Russia.

Chernobylite is an upcoming survival horror game developed by The Farm 51 that’ll allow you to experience the barren and abandoned areas and wastelands of Chernobyl, without having to leave the comfort of your own home.
Of course, it’s not going to be smooth sailing, because y’know, that’s not what survival horror is.

The Farm 51 describes the game as follows: “It’s a science-fiction survival horror experience, mixing the free exploration of its disturbing world with challenging combat, unique crafting, and non-linear storytelling.
“Play as a physicist, one of the Chernobyl Power Plant’s ex-employees, and investigate the mysterious disappearance of your beloved. Try to survive and reveal the contamination zone’s twisted secrets. Remember, the military presence is not your only concern.

“Get ready for a thrilling adventure of survival, conspiracy, horror, love, and obsession. One that will prove to you that it’s not about how you face your fears, it’s about how you survive them.”
