If you’re just jumping into Uncharted 4, you might be thinking to yourself: how long does it take to beat?
Uncharted 4 is a fairly lengthy single player action game – some might say too long, but that’s besides the point. It follows Nathan Drake on his final adventure, rounding out his story in a last hurrah. As such, there’s an abundance of action set pieces, dozens of quiet character moments, and plenty of treasures to unearth.
Despite being a linear narrative title, there’s actually quite a bit to see and do in Uncharted 4. The game isn’t particularly replayable, though it’s worth revisiting in the upgraded version for PS5. We described it as “one of the best PS4 games that looks and feels its best”. It’s also a relatively easy Platinum trophy, if that’s your bag.
So, how long does it take to beat Uncharted 4?
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BEAT UNCHARTED 4? – MAIN STORY
The main story of Uncharted 4 takes Nathan Drake and his brother Sam on a globe trotting adventure. Spanning several gorgeous locales, you’ll scarcely be thinking about time passing while taking in the gorgeous visuals. It spans across 22 chapters, so the game is fairly long. If you were to mainline the story, it will likely take you around 15-hours to complete.
If you increase the combat difficulty or particularly struggle with some of the puzzles, it might take you a little longer. All in all, though, you shouldn’t be looking at any longer than 17-hours to beat Uncharted 4.
As a linear game, there aren’t any side quests to speak of. However, there are some sections that are more open world than others. These let you explore additional pocket areas for some hidden goodies. They’re not essential to the main story, but are worth exploring for some added value. If you take it easy and explore these areas too, it might take you around 20-hours to beat Uncharted 4.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BEAT UNCHARTED 4? – COMPLETIONIST
If you’re like me then you’ll likely be drooling at the thought of another Platinum trophy. Just like the Uncharted games before it, Uncharted 4 has countless collectibles to pick up throughout Drake’s journey. There’s 193 items to pick up in total, and some of them are particularly well hidden.
If collecting them all is something you want to achieve, then you’re looking at spending a lot longer with Uncharted 4. It’s estimated to take most people around 30-hours to collect absolutely everything. In some cases, that might involve starting a second playthrough.
