Developer Infinity War has promised nerfs are coming following player outcry over weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone.
In case you haven’t noticed, Call of Duty currently has a pretty hefty issue with two weapons in the game: the AS VAL and SP-R 208. Both guns are incredibly OP, and they’re causing a lot of issues for people who just want to enjoy the games.

Ashton Williams, Senior Communications Manager at Infinity Ward, has now taken to Twitter to respond to the fan outcry, promising players that a fix is coming – and it should be happening soon.
“We currently have a patch being tested that has weapon tuning for the AS VAL and SP-R 208,” tweeted Williams. “Pending any unforeseen issues, we’ll release it as soon as possible.”
That’s great news for players, but what exactly is the issue with the weapons in question? Well, as one Twitter user puts it:
“There is 2 big problems right now. AS Val ammo conversion penetration basically goes through the entire map. People running snapshots and cutting through anything. The SP-R with ammo conversion is ‘hitscan’ right now. There’s no bullet drop. It’s insanely accurate at distance.”
Hopefully the nerfs will come sooner rather than later, as Call of Duty is about to change with the upcoming release of the new game, Black Ops Cold War.
Black Ops Cold War will sit alongside Modern Warfare and Warzone when it comes to multiplayer, but it’s also set to introduce a whole load of new content, modes and changes to the formula.

HOW TO PLAY THE BLACK OPS COLD WAR BETA
As is typical with Call of Duty games, the early access beta will be playable before the game’s full launch. PlayStation users who’ve pre-order the game will get access to the beta before the rest of the world, giving an extra incentive to pick up the title on PS4.
PlayStation 4 gamers who’ve pre-ordered a digital copy of the game will be able to play from October 8 – 9. The PS4 Open Beta will run from October 10-12.
Xbox One and PC Early Access Beta will start October 15 – 16. All platforms will be able to play the beta October 17-19.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is due to release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 13 2020. Next-gen versions of the game will also be available.
