Even since Microsoft acquired Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media, fans have been left wondering what the future holds for Bethesda titles.

We know that the likes of GhostWire: Tokyo and Deathloop will remain timed-exclusives for PlayStation, as Microsoft decided to honour pre-acquisition deals. However, questions are left unanswered as to the future of Bethesda games and Xbox exclusivity.

With E3 2021 seemingly going all digital thanks to the ongoing global pandemic, it’s not unreasonable to think that Microsoft might be one of the publishers to go all-out on its own this year.

According to Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat and the GamesBeat Decides podcast, Microsoft will indeed be holding an event next month, specifically related to Bethesda.

Once the deal closes, they will talk about it in a big way. I don’t know if it will be like a full Direct-style event, but they will make note of it and they will talk about it extensively and explain what it means to everybody,” explained Grubb [via Comicbook]. “Expect that to happen sometime in mid-March.

Up until now, Microsoft has been rather coy as to what its overall plans are with Bethesda titles such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, DOOM and Wolfenstein. It will be nice to get some potential answers!

It will also be interesting to find out what will happen to titles such as GhostWire: Tokyo and Deathloop after the end of their timed-exclusive deals. Or how long the exclusive deals might be in place for. Heck, we might even learn more about Starfield next month.

Obviously until this rumoured Microsoft event is officially confirmed, we must take it with a pinch of salt.  However, be sure to let us know what you hope to see at the rumoured Microsoft event across our social media channels.
