Following the Roe V Wade email Jim Ryan sent to Sony employees last week, Insomniac Games sent a 60-page dossier to PlayStation boss, Herman Hulst.
Last week, in relation to the sensitive topic of the right to abortion involving the Roe vs Wade court ruling in the US, PlayStation CEO, Jim Ryan shared his opinions on the issue. It’s fair to say, it understandably didn’t go down well, at all.
In an email leaked to Bloomberg, employees were asked to “respect differences of opinion” on abortion. The PlayStation CEO also spoke about his cat’s birthdays, cake, and his desire to one day own a pet dog. Yes, that actually happened.

Employees make their voices heard
As reported by Washington Post, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank developer, as well as first-party Sony studio, sent the dossier to Hulst. The dossier demands better leadership from Sony and to “do better by employees who are directly affected.”
Sony will match donations to Charity
Furthermore, in an act of solidarity, Insomniac Games donated $50k to the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project following the email from Jim Ryan. This donation will be matched by Sony, as will any donation made by its employees.
The Washington Post article also states: “Sony now plans to formulate an initiative to provide financial assistance to employees who may have to travel to different states to receive reproductive care. Insomniac Games will aid in formulating that policy.”

In related news, former Halo and current Destiny developer, Bungie recently issued a statement in support of the Roe vs Wade case in the US.
