Remedy Entertainment, developer of Control and Alan Wake, has provided some updates of projects they have in the works.
It’s pretty clear the Remedy has a lot on its hands at the moment. For one, it’s working on a remake of the first two Max Payne games in collaboration with Rockstar. And it just recently announced that AMC will be adapting Alan Wake into a TV show. As well as the remaster coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg for Remedy. For one, Alan Wake 2 is moving forward at a good pace. “Alan Wake 2 is in the full production stage,” wrote Remedy in its financial results. “A lot of work remains, but the game is starting to take a more complete form in many areas. As communicated earlier, Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023.” That’s great news for fans of the series.
what else is in the works?
Codename Vanguard, a free-to-play, co-operative PVE shooter that’s being published by Tencent is also progressing nicely. And Codename Condor, a multiplayer spin-off of Control “continues in the proof-of-concept stage,” according to Remedy. The spin-off will be set on the Oldest House, the setting of Control, starring Bureau team members.
And lastly, Codename Heron, another, bigger Control game is “in the concept stage and its prototyping continues.” Interestingly, Remedy noted that it is planning to have several “major game launches” between 2023 and 2025. Fans of Remedy’s off kilter stylings definitely have a lot to look forward to, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates.
