Update 02/11/22: Naughty Dog has confirmed that The Last of Us TV series will premiere on HBO Max on January 15th in the US. It will also premiere a day later in the UK on Sky Atlantic.
Original Story 01/11/22: It looks like The Last of Us HBO TV series will premiere in January 2023. That’s at least according to official advertisements.
We already know that The Last of Us adaptation will launch sometime in 2023, with the year appearing on the HBO website.
However, as reported by Eurogamer, Sky apparently released a promotion for the series which featured the launch date of January 16, 2023.

At this time, we must take the reports with a pinch of salt. As it seems the release date has slipped accidentally.
However, these dates are direct from not only Sky (the network that will broadcast the show in the UK), but also HBO in the US.
So, without an official announcement, this news is about as genuine as it gets without official confirmation.
The Last of Us TV series will of course be based on the popular PlayStation video game series.
However, Naughty Dog chief and co-producer of the series, Neil Druckmann has promised that the TV adaptation will deviate somewhat from its video game source material.
The Last of Us TV series has a star-studded cast
The series will star Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian) as Joel and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) as Ellie.
It will also star Anna Torv as Tess, Nick Offerman as Bill, as well as Merle Dandridge as Marlene to name but a few. I
t’s certainly going to be a star-studded cast with high expectations set by the critically acclaimed video game series.

At this time, neither Naughty Dog nor HBO has ‘officially’ announced the release date for The Last of Us TV series.
