It may have taken a whole year, but finally Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC has been cracked, as reported by Dark Side of Gaming.

Despite having a team of dedicated Crackers, Red Dead Redemption 2 has proved to be a very challenging task indeed, but now it’s finally been broken free. When we say “cracked”, it’s not to essentially break the game, more so to allow talented modders to do their thing (and it’s not so that the game can be pirated).
According to DSOG, the reason why it’s taken Crackers so long to make a breakthrough is due to the combination of Rockstar Games using DRM’s and the Social Club to build a wall of protection. This is unlike GTA V, a title which has been cracked wide open and has a thriving modding community.

DSOG are so amazed that it’s taken this long to crack Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, that they describe the breakthrough as “astonishing.” So what does this mean for the future of the smash hit Wild West game on PC? Well if you’ve seen some of the amazing mods for GTA V over the years, then you’ll get the gist.
Don’t get us wrong, Red Dead Redemption 2 already has some awesome mods, but due to the challenges that faced the Crackers, the modding community hasn’t been as thriving as it could have been, that was until now.

What kind of mods can we expect to see now Red Dead Redemption 2 has been cracked? For me personally, aside from potential silly Thomas the Tank and Macho Man Randy Savage mods, I’m intrigued to see an ultra realistic mod that transforms the game world, though I suspect that such a mod is quite a way off.
