Jackass 4 Is On The Way And Already Has A Release Date

Johnny Knoxville and co. have confirmed that Jackass 4 is officially on the way. Growing from the humble roots of MTV’s indie series, Jackass has carved itself a lucrative movie franchise and earned nearly $488 million at the box office.

Jackass first launched in 2000 as a frankly bizarre concept where a bunch of guys basically knock the living hell out of each other, make themselves vomit, and do ‘dizgusten’ things with a beerbong.

The series was created by Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Tremaine, with Jackass hitting the silver screen in 2002. If you haven’t watched Jackass were you really a ’00s kid?

Deadline confirms Paramount is moving forward with Jackass 4 and has even given the movie a release date. According to the site, the next installment is punching its way into Hollywood on March 5, 2021. We last saw the wild world with the Knoxville-led Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa in 2013.

Although it wasn’t a traditional movie from the group, it was billed as a “Jackass Presents” production and starred Knoxville in heavy prosthetics to play a foul-mouthed OAP called Irving Zisman.

Even though Jackass only ran for three seasons, it gained a cult following and gathered enough steam for its own movie series. The last ‘main’ movie was the stomach-churning Jackass 3D in 2011.

There’s been plenty of controversy surrounding Jackass in recent years. For a while, it looked like a fourth movie would never happen following the tragic death of Ryan Dunn in 2011.

Elsewhere, there have been growing concerns for the mental wellbeing of Bam Margera. As one of Jackass‘ leading men — and starring in spin-offs like Viva La Bam — it just won’t be Jackass 4 without the loveable skater boy.

Given that Johnny is now 48, it’s unclear how he’ll cope with even more outlandish stunts. The franchise favourite has been injured a lot over the years and was famously left using a colostomy bag for six weeks when a motorcycle flip went horribly wrong in 2007.

Margera has previously suggested a fourth movie could be called Jackass 4: We’re Not Dunn Yet, but we’ll have to wait and see whether this is the case. Whatever the crazy crew is cooking up, Jackass 4 is sure to pique everyone’s interest with a long-awaited return to form for Knoxville, Margera, Steve-O, Pontius, and the rest of the gang.
