Jeff Goldblum’s Answer To Whether He’s In Thor 4 Is Completely On Brand For Him

Jeff Goldblum has avoided confirming whether he’s in Thor: Love and Thunder by delivering a bizarre comeback comment.

When Esquire asked Jeff Goldblum whether he’d be returning to his role as Grandmaster in Thor 4, the actor decided to neither confirm nor deny his appearance. Instead, in the most Jeff Goldblum way possible, he delivered a very cryptic riddle.

Am I going to be in Love and Thunder, the truth is, and I can say it now because the trailer has come out, I appear in it,” Goldblum says. “It’s my most challenging role to date, and I believe my highest accomplishment. I’m not seen, visually. You never see me. And you don’t hear me. Nor am I referred to, I believe, in any scene. I am sensed, only vibrationally. It’s up to the viewer to pick up on that… But you will feel something. And that will be me.

Jeff Goldblum Jurassic World Dominion

This coy comment was in retaliation to a question made during the Jurassic World Dominion press tour. While writing, the movie in question has been given a 79% audience rating. In contrast, however, Dominion has a low 33% Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer rating. It seems the fans and critics remain divided on this one.

Rumours that Goldblum would be appearing in the forthcoming Thor film have been speculated long before this Dominion press interview, however. MCU fans have actually been debating whether The Grandmaster will be in Love and Thunder since last summer.

Here Is When Doctor Strange 2 Comes To Disney Plus

Last year, the actor was spotted in Australia alongside his Jurassic franchise co-star, Sam Neill. With Neill confirmed to return for the Thor sequel, the rumour mill has been in overdrive. Neill also stars alongside Jeff Goldblum in the final Jurassic franchise film.

Further to being seen with Neill, Goldblum was also spotted in Australia with Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Taika Waititi.

Despite skirting away from a confirmation, we still live in hope that The Grandmaster will appear in the forthcoming Thor sequel. He hasn’t been seen in the MCU since Taika Waititi’s Thor Ragnarok. It’s about time for a comeback, right?

Thor Love and Thunder

With less than a month until Thor Love and Thunder’s release, we might have to wait until July 8 for a Grandmaster confirmation. Aside from Goldblum however, actors that are confirmed for Thor 4 include Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and Christian Bale.

Thor Love and Thunder will also see the return of Natalie Portman to the MCU. Previously portraying Thor’s love interest, Doctor Jane Foster, Portman can be seen in the Thor 4 trailer wielding Mjölnir. With main plot points still under wraps, it’s fair to say we should prepare for the unexpected when it comes to Jane Foster.

Thor Love and Thunder will premiere in cinemas on July 8th.
