PlayStation employees are reportedly angry at boss Jim Ryan for an email he apparently sent to staff talking about abortion.
However, it wasn’t just the topic of abortion in the email reportedly sent by Ryan that angered staff. It is claimed that he also spoke about his cat’s birthdays as well as his desire to get a dog. Yikes!
PlayStation boss Jim Ryan sent an email today asking his staff to “respect differences of opinion” on abortion rights. Then he wrote five paragraphs about his two cats’ birthdays, their habits, and his desire to get a dog.

People are… not thrilled! https://t.co/VSdhaTPEdN
According to a report from Bloomberg, PlayStation staff are said to be “seething” at the email sent by Ryan. In case you didn’t know, there’s a massive case happening in the US to overturn a 1973 court ruling called Roe vs Wade, and it involves the right to abortion.
In an email forwarded to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, it said: “multi-faceted and diverse, holding many different points of view,” adding “we owe it to each other and to PlayStation’s millions of users to respect differences of opinion among everyone in our internal and external communities.”

Cats, Dogs, and birthday cakes?!
The email continued: “Respect does not equal agreement. But it is fundamental to who we are as a company and as a valued global brand.”
However, following an attempt to “share something light-hearted to help inspire everyone to be mindful of having balance that can help ease the stress of uncertain world events,” Ryan then spoke about pets.
Jim Ryan’s email, seen by Bloomberg News, does not take a stance on Roe v. Wade or abortion rights but does declare “that dogs really are man’s best friend, they know their place, and perform useful functions like biting burglars and chasing balls that you throw for them.”

According to Schreier, Ryan went on to talk about his two cat’s birthdays, their birthday cakes, and a desire to one day own a dog. All of this in an email talking about abortion.
