The upcoming John Wick 4 will have a runtime that makes it the longest film in the action franchise so far, according to its director.
John Wick movies have been getting progressively longer with each entry. John Wick 1 was only 101 minutes, Chapter 2 was 122 minutes and, Chapter 3 ended up being 131 minutes. And apparently, the fourth instalment will be the longest yet.
Director Chad Stahelski spoke about the fourth movie, describing how the film is the longest one yet. When asked about the length of the movie, he said it was “longer than the other three, but not that long”.
He also spoke about the editing process, saying that they’re in the final stretch before adding the sound. He said “Our sequences are done. The movie is essentially done. There’s probably another few weeks of tweaking overall, then we lock picture, and we’re about music sound and the effects.”
John Wick 4 runtime – Baba Yaga is back
The first trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 was officially released last month. It showed off some glimpses of the movie, including some typical John Wick action and both new and returning characters.
It looks like John Wick is on another warpath, but few details about the plot have been revealed so far. We’ll have to wait a little longer to learn more about the film, as it won’t be out until next year.
John Wick: Chapter 4 stars Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Clancy Brown, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane and Rina Sawayama. The film is scheduled to be released on March 24th, 2023. That comes after a delay of its original May 27 2022 – the film was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
And for John Wick fans, we can probably expect more of the same satisfying action we’ve seen throughout the whole franchise. It’s nice to know we might be getting even more of it in the longest John Wick so far.
