Square Enix’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider might have some stiff competition when it launches in September.
It’s one of the year’s most highly-anticipated games thanks to the success of previous titles in the revisit to the world of Lara Croft- Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
A Lara Croft canon title is always going to get sales – but everyone wants to know why the game is going to be launched so quickly after another PlayStation behemoth…
Yep, in case you didn’t know, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will release just one week after the launch of Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man.
Spider-Man has been on the list of games-to-watch since its initial announcement, and it definitely could be a first choice for gamers who might not be able to splash the cash on both AAA games.
Both games were incredibly well-received by fans who were able to trial demos of them over at San Diego Comic Con, but the gaming community seems divided about which release they might go for.
Sure but I’m talking about overall sales. Folks on the console with the most players will pass on Tomb Raider to play Spider-Man.

Debating on Twitter, one user tweeted: “Tomb Raider release was decided a long time ago in fact [sic] the game should have released way before this date, it just so happens Spider-Man has decided to slay it.”

Another said: “So I have played Spider-Man and Shadow of the Tomb Raider at #SDCC. Spider-Man is going to be good, but HOLY HELL the story and tone of Tomb Raider blew me out of the water!”
