Leak Claims Breath Of The Wild 2 Is Latest Game To Be Delayed

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 may not have had a release date, but one insider is claiming it’s already been delayed.

The game was announced last year, and though no specific release date was offered, many industry insiders claimed we should be seeing the game release this year, 2020.

Now that seems to have changed though, as known Nintendo leaker Sabi has offered a supposed update on the game’s development.

Responding to a questions about BOTW 2 on Twitter, Sabi said: “I have NOT had a follow up from the 2020 source, as I haven’t requested they look into it since last October.

“However another extremely reputable source has heard more cynical things of it not being until next year.”

They added: “And has instead heard of another major franchise in particular having a holiday release this year that you probably don’t expect.

I’ll have to try and follow up with the original source this or next week hopefully. I’ll post about it when I can to see what’s up.”

Not too much is known about the sequel to Breath of the Wild, but this is one game I absolutely don’t want to see rushed onto shelves.

Nintendo has no issues when it comes to delaying games to make them the best they possibly can be. The company won the hearts of lots of gamers when it decided to scrap work on Metroid Prime 4 and start again from the beginning with a new studio.

Speaking in Jan 2019, Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer, said: “We did not make this decision lightly. This change will essentially mean restarting development from the beginning, so the completion of the game will be delayed from our initial internal plan. We strongly recognize that this delay will come as a disappointment to the many fans who have been looking forward to the launch of Metroid Prime 4.”

As always, take these new Breath of the Wild rumours with a pinch of salt for now.
