Leak Says This Is How Much The PlayStation 5 Will Cost

If rumours are to be believed, we’re on the cusp on the next generation of consoles. It’s a pretty exciting time, but until we get the official reveal of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox 2, we’ll have to rely on leaks.

One leak in particular seems to suggest that the PlayStation 5 is coming next year, and it’s suggested that the price tag is going to be pretty darn high.

Coming from this Pastebin file [via GamesRadar], which is supposedly from a game developer in Europe, this leak first appeared back in December.

Back then it wasn’t taken too seriously, but now it’s hitting the headlines again as people unpick the claims made.

The supposed dev claims that along with a 2020 release date, the PS5 will cost around $100 USD more than the PlayStation 4 did at launch, making it roughly around $500 USD.

It’s not cheap, but it’s comparable to the PS4 Pro’s current price, meaning it could be likely.

However, this leaker also seems to think that Rockstar Games has secretly developed and completed Grand Theft Auto 6, which it claims will be out next year. Seems unlikely, so maybe the price and release window for the PS5 is just false…

We’ll have to wait for official word from Sony about its next console, but it might be a good idea for you to start saving up now. Just in case.

The anonymous Pastebin file says we can expect a reveal of the console anytime from now until June, with a launch date of March or November 2020.

In all honesty, all the rumours flying around about the PS5 right now all suggest a 2020 release, so that doesn’t seem too far-fetched. We know that Microsoft and Sony are both working on their next-gen hardware, so next year isn’t too much of a stretch.

As for the rest? We’ll have to wait and see…
