Leaked List Seemingly Reveals Upcoming PS5 Games & Release Dates

A “leaked” list of upcoming PS5 games has appeared on the internet, further fuelling recent speculation that a remaster to the current Xbox One exclusive, Sunset Overdrive, is on the way.

Earlier this week, it was discovered that Sony had filed for a trademark for Sunset Overdrive, which was met with some by surprise. As it stands, Microsoft owns the rights to the original game, but Sony-owned studio Insomniac Games own the IP.

So if Sony has successfully claimed the rights to Sunset Overdrive, one would assume that a deal with Microsoft has been made.

Interestingly, the alleged list of leaked games even reveals the potential title for both a Sunset Overdrive remaster, and even its sequel. According to an image featuring a list of games and dates from Twitter user Angulus, the Sunset Overdrive remaster will be called “Sunset Overdrive: Refreshed Edition” and will come to both PS4 and PS5 by the end of this year.

However, its sequel is speculated to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, and it will apparently be called “Sunset Apocalypse” with a ‘To Be Announced’ release date. Though if a deal with Sony and Microsoft has been made, I would assume that the sequel would also come to Xbox.

The alleged list of upcoming games and dates also includes the likes of Media Molecule’s Dreams coming to PS5 on July 29th, Sonic Colors Ultimate speeding its way to PS4 and PS5 on September 14th, and Grand Theft Auto 5 arriving to PS5 this October.

The remaining titles on the leaked games include: Project Cars 3 (Fall 2021), Back 4 Blood (October 12th), Symphogear Unite (2022), Stray (October 2021), and The Mitchells vs. The Machines (November 25th).

It’s worth keeping in mind that despite the list of alleged leaked games only saying PS4 and PS5, many of the titles such as Back 4 Blood are in fact multiplatform.

That all being said, these reports are currently unconfirmed rumours and we must take all speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
