As many of us had hoped, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was announced and it will be coming to Nintendo Switch in 2022.

Back in May the release date for Breath of the Wild 2 was allegedly leaked by an industry insider Zippo. The prediction was that the Nintendo Switch exclusive wouldn’t be released until Spring 2022. So, this seems like it might be in the same ballpark.

Zippo previously claimed:

“If any Nintendo game was affected by the pandemic, it was this one. From what I heard, the game is nearing completion, but a release by the end of the year just isn’t seeming feasible. The game needs a bit more time, and with the last year in mind, that’s entirely understandable.

“What I foresee Nintendo doing at E3 is finally busting down the doors on the game and giving fans and the press tons of details on it, with a “Spring 2022” date attached to it. But that’s just my prediction on it.”

The new teaser definitely looks beautiful. Breath of the Wild was a great looking game and this improves on those visuals that have become iconic. There’s some very interesting gameplay moments too. Including being able to teleport through solid objects it seems, which will no doubt lead to some interesting puzzles!
