Lords of the Fallen reboot was revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live with an epic CGI trailer as well as a subtle name change.
The epic three-minute trailer is narrated by Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, Game of Thrones). The original Lords of the Fallen was released for PC, PS4 as well as Xbox One in 2014.
Lords of the Fallen was perhaps one of the first “Souls-like” games before that sub-genre became a thing. It was greeted with a decent enough reception with a Metacritic score hovering around the 70 ballparks.
Lords of the Fallen sequel has been a long time coming
Furthermore, in 2014, the sequel to Lords of the Fallen was announced with an intended release in 2017. Sadly, however, with a seemingly troubled development and the sequel being passed to more than one studio, Lords of the Fallen 2 soon become Lords of the Forgotten.

Thankfully, Lords of the Fallen is forgotten no more, because a reboot was announced at Gamescom and it’s’ coming to PC, PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox Series X|S. However, this reboot has dropped the number and is now known as “The Lords of the Fallen.”
It will be 5-times larger than the OG
The tagline for this reboot reads “a vast world of shadow and chaos awaits” in what is described as a “dark-fantasy action RPG”. The Lords of the Fallen will be developed by HEXWORKS, a CI Games Studio. In case you didn’t know, CI Games was the developer of the original game.

In terms of what The Lords of the Fallen reboot is all about, it’s said to be five times larger than the original game and will be set thousands of years after its events. The Lords of the Fallen will feature “NPC quests, compelling characters, and rich narrative.”
It will also feature character creation, and a friend will be able to join you in the campaign in what is said to be an “uninterrupted online co-op” experience.
When is The Lords of the Fallen release date?

At this time, we don’t have a release date for The Lords of the Fallen. However, in my opinion, seeing as we don’t even have a release window, there’s a good chance that its release could be a couple of years away at least.
