Travel back to the eighties in Unusual Findings for a click-and-point adventure. It’s oozing with nostalgia for schlocky horror and action movies.
In Unusual Findings, you must investigate a mysterious signal in a small town just before Christmas. As you can see from the description:
“Three friends uncover mysteries in the 1980s. Follow their amazing adventures in a game where your decisions really matter. Be prepared to spin like a record on your incredible journey back to the era of synthesizers, VHS Rental stores, 8 bits games and evil alien conspiracies.”

Friends Vinny, Nick and Tony pick up an alien distress signal when trying to watch an adult pay-per-view channel. They head out into the woods outside their town to investigate. However, the alien begins a murderous rampage through the town. The friends must follow the trail of destruction in order to discover what’s happening.
The game is a mashup of Stranger Things and E.T. and we’re excited. You can check out the trailer here:
Nostalgic gaming
The game is being developed by indie studio Epic Lama and was part-funded through a Kickstarter. Publisher, Buka Entertainment, have put out a wide range of games. This includes puzzle-based Tetragon and 9 Monkeys of Shaolin – an old-school ‘beat ’em up’ game. It seems like Buka enjoy championing retro-style games – and Unusual Findings certainly fits the bill.
Unusual Findings taps into nostalgia with the 80s movie inspired plot and 16-bit design. The game is also a retro-style point-and-click adventure. Unusual Findings is coming to Steam soon! So add it to your wishlist now if you feel like getting stuck into a creepy, nostalgic mystery this autumn!
